The UnderPressure Fine Art Web Site.Welcome to Intaglio Prints. The prints you will see here are your straight forward line etch, aquatint, drypoint, and sugarlift prints. Chine Colle, Collagraphy, and Embossing are Intaglio processes, but have their own page.

The above is a 9 X 12 inch straightforward line etch on zinc plate. It was taken from a drawing from observation (a still life study), and was printed on Rives de Lin with black intaglio ink. It is entitled, "Still Life with Violin."

The above work was sugarlift intaglio on zinc plate. It measured about 12 X 15 inches, and was printed on Rives BFK with sepia/black ink. It is entitled, "Old House in Oviedo."

The above work is an aquatint on a zinc plate, measuring 14 X 15 inches. It was printed on Rives BFK paper using the drop plate method. In this proceedure, the plate is inked with one color (blue, in this case) and printed, then inked again (in black) and drop printed right on top of the other color. Drop printing must be done rapidly, as the paper will dry out and shrink over time. This work is entitled, "Segovia Castle," but it was more of a monastery, or convent. It is located right beside the aquaduct in Segovia in the middle of town.
